BACTERIA

The utilization of bacteria, either for plant growth or for crop stubble degradation, is an exceptional alternative to chemical methods, which are generally harmful to the ecosystem. However, the poor stability of bacteria in plant soil has limited the potential of this technology. Encapsulating bacteria in biodegradable microcapsules provide them stability and increases their life, providing a safe method to deliver bacteria directly onto the plant/crop site significantly increasing the crop growth or degradation yield. The biodegradable nature of microcapsules ensures they are not contaminating the crops and farms paving the way for sustainable farming.

PHEROMONES

Pesticides used for pest control are extremely harmful to the eco-system. Pheromones offer an environmentally alternative to pest control methods. However, since pheromones are volatile, they are not effective for long term and are often required to store in a containers or materials, to work effectively on-field. There are lot of limitations to store pheromones and utilize them efficiently. Encapsulating pheromones in biodegradable microcapsules provide an effective way to spray pheromones over the large areas of farm land for sustainable pest control without worrying about contamination caused by microcapsules because of their biodegradable nature.
