About us
Anvigen invented biodegradable microcapsules that allows encapsulation of active additives including bacteria inside microcapsules post microcapsule synthesis. This opens up opportunities to encapsulate a variety of additives inside microcapsules without worrying about the microcapsule structural integrity and additive stability. The biodegradable nature of the microcapsules provides a unique and sustainable solution to a variety of problems especially in the agriculture and pest control.
Our team is collaborative and always excited to work with customers to develop custom-formulated products to meet their needs.
Meet the Team
Dr. Sumedh P. Surwade
Founder and CEO
Dr. Sumedh P. Surwade is responsible for technology and business development. He is also the inventor of microcapsule based technologies that are being commercialized at Avigen. Before founding Avigen, he founded another materials science company called SAS Nanotechnologies. He has extensive experience in product development, business development and commercialization.
Ed Martin
Business Development
Ed is responsible for business development and sales. Before joining Anvigen, Ed spent more than 25 years at Ashland in sales and marketing where he was responsible for specialty chemicals products in North America. He has strong expertise in building customer relationships, sourcing of materials and sales.
Tracy Hunter
Technology Development
Tracy Hunter is responsible for technology development. She has a B.S. in Biochemistry and Environmental Science from Widener University. She is a hands-on team player with strong expertise product development and characterization.
